It's not the dark we're afraid of, it's what we think
might be lurking in it that frightens us.

Happy Autumn Zombie Fans!

Well hello! Autumn landed with a bang here in the Midlands. And I don't just mean by the date on the calender. The thermometer confirms the fact. Brrrr!

What does all this mean? It means pack up the flip flops and dig out the woolies and the Halloween decorations!

In the meantime, tickets are now available for Day of the Undead 2010! See the pick of zombie films, get zombified by on-site make up artists and lots more. Saturday, November 13th in Phoenix Square, Leicester, England.

A Big Thank You!

It's arrived; Holiday Hollow has now recorded one thousand plus hits. Many thanks to everyone who has dropped by and made it happen. Glad to know I'm not the only out there who thinks having a blog dedicated to spooky stuff isn't just plain weird.

You know who you are.

Regards,

Ali xx

B-Movie Monsters

I thought it would be fun to find some clips of old B-horror monsters. You know the type; back before CGI and Industrial Light & Magic et al. The first and the third movies I've never heard of, but it's fun digging through the YouTube archives. The more obscure the better I think. I'll post further as I find them.

The Beach Girls and the Monster (1965)

Invaders from Mars (1953)

The Brain Eaters (1958)

September

Notable, if only for the fact that this makes it 60 days to Halloween! *squeal*

Ok, we'll do this the offical way. *ahem*

September, seventh or "septem" month of the calendar. Back to school, back to work, harvest time. The last of fairs and festivals that fill the Summer months. The old feast of Michaelmas or Saint Michael and All Angels (who defeated Satan), is September 29th when goose and bannock cakes were served. Until the 18th century this was an important feast day in the Christian calendar.

You may already be noticing small changes as the new Season begins to make it's approach felt. Cooler evenings, leaves beginning to turn colour and of course, nightfall draAdd Imagewing in earlier. It won't be too long now before I dig out my Autumn and Halloween decorations.

60 days!
