It's not the dark we're afraid of, it's what we think
might be lurking in it that frightens us.

Horror Movies With Great Stories

Thanks to Scream Writer for tweeting the link to this post. The list leaves out a few I'd include, like An American Werewolf in London, but there are some great choices. Have a look and see what you think.

Stephen King's House

As taken last week by my cousin, Karen, in Ottawa. Well obviously she wasn't IN Ottawa when she took the photos.

Dig the bats on the front gate. Looks like the book business is lucrative eh?

Keep Calm, Carry On

It's just over two months til the Autumnal Equinox in September and have I got ANYTHING halfway decent drafted out for Cryptkeeper 2010? Is Dracula a vegan?

See, my plan was to write down ideas for topical posts, develop them into brilliant pieces of blogging, then cleverly start stockpiling them. At this point, I can't even find the notebook I started writing the ideas in. Where's a ghoul or minion when you need one, I ask you.

Canada Day!

While I may not be living in my "home and native land", "more's the pity says I on occasion, I'm there in spirit on this, Canada's official birthday.

Formerly known as Dominion Day, Canada Day celebrates the anniversary of July 1st 1867 when the British North America Act united two British colonies and one province into a single country. I think the colonies were Ontario and Quebec, once known as Upper and Lower Canada. Not sure which province was involved though.

I can't be bothered to check my facts here, so if I'm wrong, please post a comment to correct me.

Anyhow, Happy Birthday Canada! Have a good one folks.
